Check out http://home.elseif.co.uk/~shell/images/windows-browsers.png - can any one think of any big/worthy ones I’ve not thought of yet?
The above is a virtual machine installed in VMWare on my desktop which actually runs Linux
Thought it would be a good idea for testing websites in common browsers. Glad (and impressed) to say this site looks the same, spot on, in all of them! See the link in the footer for the website of the brill person who made the skin.
Another hamster!
Nig gave us this one at the weekend at the talk party. It’s a he and is a russian dwarf hamster, so smaller than Wysiwyg as she (yes they will defiently be kept apart!) is a syrian hamster which will grow a lot bigger. Tho Centrino is already fully grown but Wysi is still growing.
froggie wouldn’t let me call the last one Centrino - “I’m not having a branded hamster!” but after I said no to a 2nd one then let him get her he decided to give in on the name.
Also.. heheh… Centrino likes pooing in your hand when you hold him, Wysi doesn’t thankfully!
I’m going Wikipedia mad on this post! ![]()
Just bought one of these. Brilliant. Stuck my 200GB media hard disk out my desktop PC in it, with all my music and what not. Means I can just pop it in my bag and take it to peoples houses easily, attach it to my laptop any where etc.
Highly recommended.
Bought from www.mdcomponents.co.uk - our local computer shop, top guys in there ![]()
First of all, I didn’t mean to leave it this long with out posting. Suppose I’ve been busy. Not sure what I’ve been busy doing tho.
Anyway, hospitals. Never use to bother me much, they just piss me off these days tho. Spent ages in one last week getting my wrist looked out in regards to an ongoing problem.
A few years ago, ok thinking about it, 9 years ago I broke my right wrist and a few years after broke my thumb joint/tore hand ligaments etc. Right hand’s never been the same since. Assumed problems were down to that. Over the last few years I’ve had more and more problems tho. It’s to the point now that I’ve had to force myself to be ambidextrous, for example I use a computer mouse left handed other wise with in minutes I’m in pain/numbness etc. I get odd tingling sometimes too.
I saw my doctor a bit back and he laughed and told me to stop working with computers and passed it off as RSI. Just been annoying me tho recently with the thought of living with this for ever, so went and saw my new doctor. She’s just brilliant. Referred me straight off the hospital.
So after the normal waiting game with the NHS (and still more waiting games), I get to see a hand specialist at the QMC hospital here in Nottingham. Apparently my doctor had thought it was Carpel Tunnel Syndrome (which I’d read up and could relate to) - doctor at the hospital doesn’t agree tho, and after discussing could understand why. He did an xray tho just to make sure it was nothing to do with my previos broken bones etc - all fine tho
I remember them nearly pinning my arm as it wasn’t quite straight when I broke it but they decided not to - always made me wonder how it had healed.
He wants me to have an MRI(!) scan on it and “nerve conductivity tests” tho. Thinks I might have a ganglion in there or something. Fun.
I do get pains in my left hand but no where near as much or as bad and have just passed that off as my left hand not being used to doing lots of stuff kind of thing.
We’ll see.. I’m wondering how they do an MRI scan on your hand! Got to wait for appointments for them now ![]()
Breaking news this morning - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4778575.stm
Why on earth do these people want to do this? What kind of religion or simply state of mind is it that makes you feel the need to do that kind of thing?!
What do you gain by killing innocent people, or anyone infact? Even if some one’s evil or supposedly “deserves it” I don’t believe they should be killed. They should be locked away somewhere and left to suffer.
FFS
Would rant more but has to go and have fun sitting in hospitals..!
There’s been a VW Passat Estate parked opposite our house for at least 2 weeks now. No idea who it belongs. What makes it odder is the way it’s parked half on the pavement right next to (centimetres from the poll) of the bus stop. On inspection (just looking, no touching!) it doesn’t look like there’s been forced entry, and there’s a Tesco photo frame on the passenger seat in its bag still. Not sure if the cars locked or not, hard to tell just from looking.
Would it be a good idea to let the police know do you think?
I’m thinking yes even tho the car looks ok, just because of where its been parked. Bit strange when they could of parked it normally on the road 10 metres away, not blocking pavement/bus stop- especially if you planned leaving it there that long.

How embarrasing.
Pub. froggie. 3 pints. Pub quiz.
I quietly whispered to him in discussion about the current question and he just loudly shouts out the answer as everyone is quiet discussing it!
Never seen froggie so embarrassed! :D!
I’ve also never left a pub so quickly like that before (we were about to go anyway!). Still sat here laughing that much it hurts.
This also kind of ties in with a post I am going to get round to doing some time soon on the subject of alcohol. I’ve not been drinking at all - it’s good. Problem is I like drinking for the taste of the real ales.
This is Wysiwyg (as in the computer term “What You See Is What You Get”), other wise known as Wizzy. She’s our new pet hamster
We’ve had her since Tuesday 1st August now. She’s about 9 weeks old now I think.
Hamsters are very intelligent but strange animals (think that’s the best way to put it!) we’ve found.
When we first got her home in the evening she spent the evening going mental all over the cage investigating and interested in us talking to her. We left her alone tho as recommended while she settled in. She spent the next couple of days being really shy and hiding tho! She would hide in her little house or under the ledge. At the suggestion of Ponder we tried taking out the house so she she could not so easily hide from us - but still had the tube etc to hide in if she wanted to. After this and getting her out and letting her walk around/on us on the sofa, when we put her back in she just went skitty! Ever since she’s been chewing the cage bars :(
After a bit of that I felt bad so put her house back in. She wasn’t interested in it tho lol, was still interested in the cage bars. I thought it was her being upset and wanting to get out. It appears not tho. Just her being a hamster and wanting to know what’s out there. We left her for a day or so to chill tho incase we had upset her, but took out the big ledge/2nd floor bit in her cage so it was more open.
She’s still trying to chew the cage but she obviously isn’t scared as I thought. She will happily let me and froggie, feed her and pick her up (tho after not long she’s bored and wants to go off to investigate).
She was just being really nosey and exciteable, as hamsters are at the end of the day! D’oh! ![]()
