The car turned out to be only a broken tapet now my dad has finally got around to looking at it properly! PMSL after all that. Ah well, gave it to my sister now who is learning to drive. No point me having a car now, just don’t need one. She passed her theory test the other day. Woo
Didn’t realise how much the theory test had changed since I did it only 5 years ago (ok, so not such a short a period of time now I think about it). Was 25 questions about the Highway Code in my day
Now has hazard perception, first aid, and general car mechanic knowledge aswell. Not a bad thing mind.
Really, don’t need a car with where I’m working and living now. Right near London on the Central line, 20 minute walk from work etc. Cheaper to get to Nottingham by train. Better also because I can relax and read etc, takes a similar amount of time to driving, and it’s better for the planet. Thought my dad is getting rid of his lovely Ford Mondeo 2litre TDDi some time with in the next 2 years due the council only letting taxis being so old, so think I might have that off him. High millage car, been a taxi, no ones going to buy that! I know how well he’s looked after it though and it is genuinelly a brilliant runner. Does not drink any water or oil at all. Bargain.
I would say live is bloody good at the moment. Happiest I’ve been, ever. Strange eh? Everyone is noticing too, commenting on much happier I appear these days. Woo.
Sadly though, on a down note, my god mother, my mum’s best friend died on Monday. Most wonderful lovely person I had ever met. Her and her husband emigrated to Australia last year after they both had retired to enjoy it. Shortly after she was diagnosed with cancer, all seemed to be getting on okay then though with her recovering. Then a month ago she was diagnosed with kidney failure. Again looked like she was pulling through, the strong person she was. Day after coming home though, she died. Blood clots all over her body, rare thing apparently. All (kidney and clots) down to the cemo for the cancer. Funeral is in Australia so unfortently we can’t get there but she has a lot of friends over here so we’ll make sure we have some kind of event in her memory.
On that note, most the people in my family who we’ve lost now have been to cancer. So I’m setting my self the challenge of running the Cancer Research Run for Life next year. Firstly and most importantly to raise money for a very important cause (the only charity I give to every month I might add!), and secondly as a personal challenge as I really need to get my health and fitness back on track, to how I was before I broke my foot and could do feck all for over a year!
Keep on rollin’… (and rockin’…)

Yay for getting your RSS feed fixed. I can actually see if you’ve posted anything as opposed to “Feed broken” when I go down my bookmarks
Oh to be able to get to work without a car. Two bus rides for me and one of them is through the ghetto so I *need* my car. But I agree, on all the trips it’s always been cheaper by train just without the flexibility as usually I go to just outside of London so I’d need a few changes and that bumps the ticket price up. But still… save the world FTW!
Anyways… glad to know you’re doing well and all.
Finally bothered to. Was a bit quiet at work on Friday
Nice just to not own a car and be wasting all that money. £9 (okay i have a younger persons rail card so I get 33% off) OPEN return from London to Warwick FTW, for this weekend! I never have to make changes, but that’s just because I can start from the best station in London, which helps.
